JetBrains Academy

I found JetBrains Academy while I was browsing other options to continue learning without copying stuff I didn't understand. Their program is planned to be a subscription style learning environment, but they currently have a thing where its free for the first week, then after you finish the first section of the first programming project you get another month free. After you finish the entire first programming project you get another month free.  If I'd have found this 2 weeks ago, it would have been free until January 😒

Oh well, late to the opening party!

I started on the Java track and I'm pretty impressed so far with the thoroughness of the information presented.  Its text based, then some quizzes and short programming puzzles, then repeat, then project section where you apply all that you just learned without guidance.  The first project is basically a smart coffee machine app and I'm working my way through that.  Java is similar to the JavaScript I was working on, but this class covers the foundations way better rather than just telling you to google everything & I feel like I'm learning better.  

JetBrains has a track for Java and Python and beta tracks for Kotlin and JavaScript. I'm really excited to continue this program & if the tracker is right, I'm 6% of the way done with the Java track. The Python track won't be as long because I will have covered a lot of the foundational information already when I get to it.
